I think you missed my point. Yes my problem is as bad in relation to me.

I grant you, if someone walked up to me, pointed a gun at my head, and said "choose between cancer and hairloss, or I'll blow your brains out."

I'd say "Hair loss please." Yes I would much rather worry about losing my hair than dying, but I don't have cancer. Not my fault that someone else does.

But that doesn't make my problem any less important to me. The point is, problems are relative to those that have them. Telling someone that someone else has it worse is supposed to make them feel selfish about feeling bad about their own problems. Guess what. I don't.

I am a white male. I have a good job. I have never known hunger, poverty, or war. The worst problems I have had to deal with in my life are the loss of the woman I wanted to marry to her schooling, the loss of a friend to heroin, asthma, anxiety, minor heart problems, and now depression over hair loss. According to a lot of people,I have it made. I have no right to complain, right?

Like I said, every life is important. Each individual is important. No one is more important than others.

Editorial aside: :-) Read more Ayn Rand!! You will learn to assert your rights as an indivdual, and not feel guilty when you act as if your own life is important. Capitalism, atheism, science, logic, and reason!! The only way to save the world!
