Michele didn't say anything hurtful to anyone

I only have a few minutes here, but I must say that there is no reason for gang-tackling Michele. Nothing she said was hurtful. Michele said the things she said to try to encourage Thorin, and nothing she said suggested that we shouldn't mourn the loss of our hair. People get too defensive about hair loss and then they start seeing insensitivity even where it's not to be found. Your lengthy reprimand of Michele for trying to encourage Thorin was totally uncalled for. It's as though you think hair loss is the only medical condition in the world, and every other medical condition is irrelevant. Michele is not a person that needs to be scolded because she opened up her heart to someone who also has a condition other than baldness. By reprimanding her because she was being supportive of Thorin, who has cancer, you make bald people look like a bunch of selfish, uncaring, insensitive people who don't care if other medical problems are cured, just so long as our baldness is cured.

You're a nice lady Michele. Don't listen to the naysayers, they're just the selfish insensitive minority (of bald people) that doesn't care about anyone except themselves.
