I would like to thank Hairsite for getting some info from Gho. I would also like to make a few points. First, although different techniques may be used in the so called HM procedure, the basic premise remains the same. Multiplying cells and putting them in the scalp. Personally, I don't think anyone can get a patent on that-or at least one that will be followed. For example, Bosley "patented" the mircro graft years ago, however do you think all the HT doctors around the world who use "a micrograft" send Bosley a royalty fee? I don't think so. Perhaps HM is a little more sophisticated than that, and I agree, however, basic lab equipment is needed for such a procedure, so perhaps the only thing Gho can patent is some fancy injecting "gun", which no doubt, will be copied in some way or another. Gho gives a time frame of about 5yrs-which is close to Unger's estimated time (+/-). My point here is that sure Gho has a lot to offer, but so does the rest of the world. The US and Canada are not sitting back waiting for Gho, or anyone for that matter. What Gho is doing, so is Unger and others, and it should be noted that although there might be subtle differences in technique, the main protocols are the same-taking DHT insensitive cells and multiplying them and re-installing them. What Gho knows, Unger knows, what Unger knows, Gho knows. Instrumentation is secondary to the overall procedure. Gho may use a multy syringe, Unger a single syringe. The basic theme is the same. Perhaps Unger's work (or others) in the US and Canada will be slowed down by legalities and politics, but in my opinion, HM will come forward, and once so, it will just be an additive tool to any HT sugeon. Also, getting complete standardization of the techinique in order to release it is somewhat a little to "mechanical" in nature for the human. Each person is different, so it seems to a certain degree a little erroneous to say that HM will be stardized for everyone. Yes, I agree it will work for everyone with AA, but slight variatons might need to be made for the natural variability of the population.

In summary, I feel that Gho, Unger and others are of tremedous contributors to the overall evolution of HT and HM. Altough it seems like there is compentition to release HM, in my opinion, once this technology is out, doctors will implement this technique, like others, in their offices without patents. Perhaps initially some doctors will get more "bonuses" than others, but bottom line is that there is no "magic Machine", where you just put in some cells, and out comes a multiplied field of hair follicles. The basic premise stays the same-some cells, a petrie dish, some centrifuge spinners, some needles, and some patients.-perhaps oversimplified...but not really. I just feel that when the technology comes forth, it will spread-faster than the Black Plaque did-without anyone monopolizing this technique and service....one again..just my thought-at least at this point..stay tuned...SSSpiros.
