How bayberry + GSS work--an estimation

[1]. Though I have no data comparing the effect of bayberry with that of Finasteride, but I can estimate the effect of bayberry from oxendolone data.

Oxendolone (=16beta-ethyl-17beta-hydroxy-4-estren-3-one=TSAA-291)is a famous drug for BPH and is included in a hair loss product. As bayberry study refers to comparison of bayberry with oxendolene and luckily we can know the human data of oxendolone in the hair loss product, we can exactly recognize the possible potency of bayberry.

According to paper (1), inhibition rates of testostelone-stimulated growth of pigmented macules of hamster flank organ of bayberry and oxendolone were:

bayberry: 39%

oxendolone: 34%.

But, in sudy of in vivo topical hair gowth scores of mouse (25 days), we can calculate the effective rate of bayberry as 82% of oxendolone from Fig. 2 (1).

Though flank organ of hamster study indicates bayberry is stronger than oxendolone, we had better adopt the figure of in vivo mouse hair growth study, 82%.

On the other hand, these are patent's data of oxendolone:

Then we can estimate the effect of bayberry alone as 82% of these figures. If I have to choose one of oxedolone and bayberry for long time use of anti-androgen, I prefer bayberry because it has no systemic side effect.

[2]. GSS contains S-maltoside. According to mouse with DHT data, topical 1% S-maltoside inhibited DHT by 63.1% and MPB human topical 0.1% S-maltoside effect was greater than 1% minoxidil.

As you may feel, we want another potent anti-androgenic stuff other than bayberry+GSS and I think that is just spironolactone topical solution. My imagination is if we apply

bayberry + GSS + spironolactone topical solution

we can omit Finasteride altogether.
