Current Technology Launches New
PR Campaign with Presentation by Professor Arthur Pilla at
San Francisco Biotech / Medtech Conference |
Current Technology
Corporation (OTCBB: CRTCF), the developer of ETG, a safe and
non-invasive hair loss treatment, today announced that it is
launching a new public relations campaign with a presentation by Dr.
Arthur Pilla of Columbia University at the San Francisco Biotech /
Medtech Conference on September 25, 2002. Dr. Pilla is a member of
the Current Technology Medical & Scientific Advisory Board and
will be presenting the results of a recent study of ETG Treatment on
women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.
"The results
of the study are very encouraging," says Anne Kramer, president
and CEO of Current Technology Corporation. "The San Francisco
Biotech / Medtech Conference provides us with an important forum to
showcase ETG technology and its effectiveness for treatment of hair
loss beyond common baldness."
"One of the
most notable findings of the study was the positive psychological
impact the treatment had on the patients," says Dr. Pilla.
"The study indicates patients undergoing the trauma of
chemotherapy were spared the further trauma and debilitating effects
of hair loss."
The study titled,
"Pulsed Electrostatic Fields (ETG) to Reduce Hair Loss in Women
Undergoing Chemotherapy for Breast Carcinoma" was published
earlier this year in the peer-reviewed journal Psycho-Oncology. It
can be read in full in the Published Research section on the new
Current Technology website, along with additional published studies
of ETG Treatment for male pattern baldness.
"With
NextPhase Strategy, a marketing communications firm, Current
Technology has launched a new campaign to increase awareness of ETG
technology and its efficacy on cancer patients undergoing
chemotherapy as well as on men and women with common pattern
baldness," says Ullrich Schade, president of NextPhase
Strategy. "Through a series of presentations at key conferences
and with the launch of a more informative and easier-to-navigate
website, Current Technology is in a position to reach a much broader
audience of health practitioners, patients and investors. An
additional key component of the new public relations campaign is an
ongoing media communications program."
ABOUT DR. ARTHUR
PILLA
For over 35 years, Dr. Pilla has conducted groundbreaking research
into the effects that magnetic and electrical fields have on the
body's healing process. An internationally recognized expert in
bioelectromagnetics, Dr. Pilla is the inventor of the first bone
growth electromagnetic stimulator device used to treat slow and
non-healing fractures. This research led Dr. Pilla to co-found
Electrobiology, Inc. a company that marketed this technology, which
was then acquired by Biomet (BMET). The bone repair industry using
devices based on Dr. Pilla's research and inventions is currently
valued at nearly $400 million USD. For more information, please see
Dr. Pilla's biography in the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board
section of the Current Technology website.
