Raton, FL)-----Recently, Hair Club’s founder, Sy Sperling was
honored in Ft. Lauderdale at the Fourth Annual Sharing Wisdom
Caregiver’s Conference sponsored by Today’s Caregiver Magazine.
More than 500 people attended the all day conference and awards
luncheon.
For the
past four years, the magazine has given CareHero Awards to
individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and are
heroes to caregivers.
For the
first time in its history, Today’s Caregiver Magazine presented
the Robert M. Barg Memorial Achievement Award, named in honor of
publisher Gary Barg’s father, who died of bone cancer. This
prestigious award was presented to Sperling for his work with Hair
Club for Kids, which donates custom "Hi-Tech Hair Systems"
to children undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
During
the emotional presentation, Barg said that Sperling’s generosity
and unwavering determination to help people is an example for
everyone to follow. Upon accepting the award and receiving a
standing ovation, Sperling vowed that Hair Club’s commitment to
Hair Club for Kids is one of his and the company’s proudest
accomplishments.
Sy
founded Hair Club for Men 25 years ago and made advertising history
with the immortal phrase, "I'm not only the Hair Club
President, I'm also a Client"
Over the
years, Sperling has seen a remarkable transformation in hundreds of
thousands of men, women and children who look better and feel better
about themselves thanks to their new head of hair.
In
keeping with this spirit, Sy created Hair Club for Kids, a non-
profit, and internally funded organization. Children who have lost
their hair due to chemotherapy treatment for cancer now may get free
hair from the Hair Club for Kids.
Founded
over ten years ago, The Hair Club’s “Hair Club for Kids “ was
created to help children cope with cancer by enabling them to lead
as normal and active a life as possible. Hair Club for Kids has
provided hair to hundreds of children. This service is free of
charge and available to children ages 6–17 years old.
