Club For Kids Offers Holiday Hair Restoration
Terminally-Ill Children Receive Free Hair Restoration Services
BOCA RATON, Fla., -- Hair Club for Kids, the charitable off-shoot
of Hair Club, the 25 year-old, internationally-recognized hair
restoration company, announces a program for some very special
children during the holiday season. For 10 years, Hair Club
has been offering free hair restoration services to children who
suffer from diseases where the illness or treatment causes hair
loss, or alopecia.
"We were looking for a way to give back to the community and
there really is nothing better than to help the children,"
said Sy Sperling the Founder of Hair Club. "We couldn't
think of a more deserving group than the children who have
experienced hair loss on top of battling diseases."
Hair Club for Kids is a non-profit organization funded entirely by
Hair Club for Men, Ltd. Incorporated. It is available, at
no-charge, to children ages 6 - 17 years old, who suffer hair loss
due to cancer treatments and other diseases.
Hair Club can be accessed through 1-800-HAIR CLUB or through the
Hair Club for Kids Hotline at 800-269-7384. With over 80
hair loss centers all across the country, Hair Club is able to set
up appointments with its Hair Club for Kids specialists to assess
individual problems and provide free treatment.
A recent participant in Hair Club for Kids, 17-year old Mariam
Awad was stricken with Alopecia Totalis which is a disease that
results in total hair loss.
"Hair Club for Kids was awesome," said Mariam, a year
after her treatment. "I used to get teased all the time.
Now, my hair is long and it looks really natural. I
feel better about the way I look, and I just want to let others
know that Hair Club is here to help kids who have the same
problem."
Hair Club has worked with many organizations to help children
impacted by disease and hair loss. Those organizations
include:
* American Cancer Society
* Leukemia Society
* Make-A-Wish Foundation
* Ronald McDonald House
* Riley's Children Hospital (Indianapolis, IN)
* Sloan Kettering Hospital (Manhattan, NY)
