International Appoints Dr. Martin G. Unger, as Medical Director
Boca
Raton, FL
- Florida
based Lexington International announces the appointment of Martin
G. Unger, MD, FRCSC, ABCS, ABHRS of Toronto, Canada as the
company's Medical Director.
Lexington
International manufactures and sells the HairMax LaserComb, whose
technology is used worldwide by hair restoration specialists and
individuals suffering hair loss.
Among
Dr. Unger's responsibilities is overseeing an upcoming FDA
clinical trial on the company's HairMax LaserComb to
scientifically document the LaserComb's effects on hair growth,
and potentially to qualify it as a hair growing medical device. He
will also be the company's primary spokesperson.
Dr.
Martin Unger is an acknowledged world authority on hair
restoration and scalp surgery with 30 years' experience in the
hair restoration field. Although a Canadian, he is Past President
of the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and currently
is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Board of
Cosmetic Surgery. He is a medical reviewer for the Journal of
Dermatological Surgery and Oncology.
"When I learned about the HairMax LaserComb I was initially
skeptical, so I looked into it and was most impressed by what I
learned," said Dr. Unger.
"I
spoke with six doctors, including some who use the LaserComb on
their own hair, and they confirmed that it works
beautifully."
"In
addition, I have read testimonials from many patients who swear by
it. I'm very excited about the potential for the HairMax LaserComb
to help thousands of people and am looking forward to the upcoming
clinical trial."
Dr.
Unger was one of the early pioneers in the 1960s in the use of
low-level laser therapy for biostimulation, which he utilized in
the field of orthopedic surgery. "I discovered that low level
laser light could heal bones that weren't healing," he said,
"so doctors have known for years about its ability to heal.
Now we are giving low level laser therapy serious attention in the
U.S. for hair restoration."
"We
are extremely pleased and honored to have Dr. Unger on
board," said David Michaels, Managing Director of Lexington
International. "To have someone like Dr. Unger helps validate
the excitement we all feel about the HairMax LaserComb's potential
to make a positive impact on the lives of men and women alike. We
know he's going to do a fine job representing our company and
overseeing this very important FDA trial."
