Dr. Gho is one of the pioneers in hair follicle stem cells research for baldness. His patented "Hair Multiplication" procedure has received a lot of attention lately and many hair loss sufferers hope that this will be the breakthrough that would revolutionize the entire hair loss industry. On the other hand, Dr. Gho's research also raises eyebrows from many who may stand to lose when hair multiplication becomes a reality. This has become such a political issue that we have been constantly bombarded with rumors that aim to discredit Dr. Gho's invention or to simply undermine his credibility.
The most
recent allegation against Dr. Gho's research was staged in a certain
newsletter for hair loss, titled:
HairSite
has contacted Dr. Gho in reference to the above allegations by this
newsletter and was immediately presented the opportunity to read a
letter addressed to Dr. Gho by the EHRS. The letter was signed by
Prof. Dr. Ulrike Blume-Peytavi (President EHRS) and it painted
a totally different picture of
the situation.
First of
all, Dr. Gho's application was NEVER
rejected. The letter by Dr. Ulrike Blume-Peytavi stated that his
membership application was POSTPONED.
No explicit reasons were given in the letter about the decision.
However, HairSite believes that the decision is due to the fact that Dr.
Gho is in commercial development of hair
multiplication which runs contrast to the nonprofit mandate of EHRS, as
suggested by the following comment in Dr. Blume-Peytavi's
letter:
In
conclusion, we believe that IT
WAS AN ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUE and it is irresponsible for
the newsletter to sensationalize an administrative situation and
turn it into an issue about Dr. Gho's credibility and ethics. Dr. Gho
has further briefed HairSite that he may consider publishing his work
for the benefits of the EHRS if he chooses to continue to pursue a
membership with the society
