To Dr. Campbell & Dr. Woods

Background

I am 33 years old and believe myself to be a good candidate for Hair transplantation.

I have never had a transplant, used minoxidil for 12 months five years ago then stopped despite good hair loss stabilisation due to irritation caused by the treatment. I have taken no other drugs, medication for hair loss.

I have a Mediterranean complexion, good quality dense donor hair and am a fast healer.

I have a relatively compact head and the thinning area is not as large as it seems in the pictures

I have attached 2 sets of pictures of myself (see above) with normal length hair and buzz cut mark 2 to give you the best pictorial representation I can produce.

Transplant Objectives

To illustrate using your previous results and patients on your website. I am looking for a final result similar to and visually between Tom and Harry’s results which I think are both fantastic.

Harry

Tom

I would like to start off with 2 sessions in November to possibly work on the frontal hairline and a further sessions depending on your assessment in conjunction with my goals.

I would like to look great with a buzz cut! Like Franklin, Tom and progress towards a fuller look like Harry.

Questions

I am realistic in my desires but would like some feedback  on  what hairline/result I could  expect, Perhaps refer to a patient on your website.

Do you recommend any medication to prevent hair loss after surgery? What are your views on Propecia to stabilise loss in the crown area after surgery.

I am willing to cut my hair in any way you like to help with surgery. Please advise how you would like the hair to be to help you in your work.

Also, in your opinion, how many sessions will I need in order to look like Harry in the above picture?

Finally thank you for your time to evaluate my situation

Regards
Samson

Dear Samson

Thank you for your pictures they are excellent. To achieve a result like Harry’s which would be similar to Tom’s if buzz cut, would take two procedures for the frontal area, one for the mid area or vertex and one for the crown.

If you just wanted to start with two procedures for the front – the transition could be feathered into your pre-existing mid area or vertex hair.

When your hair is long for example longer than two inches, generally the hair cut can look like an ‘under cut”. If you have no pre-existing scars to cover up (from prior strip, punch or reduction surgery) it is easier to buzz the lot and have it grow in relatively evenly.

No specific medications are a requirement after surgery.
