Hi
All,
I am an African, have curly wavy kink hair, not tight kink. It is
not very difficult to grow it long to do some cover-up. I am 41
years old. My balding is progressive, but "a sort of
slow," I reached Norwood Class 5 after 15 years of setup of
thinning and frontal hair line started receding.
I had my surgery done last week in Oklahoma City by Dr. R. Blaine
Lehr. It was a very smooth easy painless procedure. The procedure
started around 7:00 a.m. and finished around 3:30. Dr. Lehr
designed the recipient area, hair line and of course designed the
donor site for removal of the donor strip. One important feature
of designing the donor strip it was cut in a thin crescent shape,
rather than straight line from ear to ear. This is to avoid the
appearance of the thin scar , if the hair receded a great deal off
the crown. Dr. Lehr technicians dissected the donor strip ( size
of 1/2 " X 8") and implanted 1828 follicular grafts in
the bald area. I have taken a quite a number of photos to share
with you later.
Before, you see photos of 5 days, 4 weeks...etc. I want to share
with you few of the sketches I drew to look at my head progressive
hair loss and the HT journey which I decide to take. I am 41 years
old so I have been thinking of how do I look after 20 to 30 years
rather than in 2 to 3 years. I have seen many people enthusiastic
and excited looking at their hair grow and they forget the years
to come, or they will rely on medications.
I am taking a different look at the HT procedure, it must be a
radical solution standing alone, not to be combined with drugs or
topical sprays..why? I refused to take any medication...for
psychological reasons. I do not want to remind my self every day
that I am getting bald. Imagine you remind your self everyday that
you are getting bald .. a something that you hate, you want to
stop, racing with, daily stress. I know without e.g Propecia I
still will continue loosing hair, but I will even consider a
second procedure, touch-up, but not a daily "procedure"
such as a pill or Rogaine. This of course a very personal judgment
and a hard headed attitude.
Please try to show these sketches before I send you photos.

Hi
HairSite,
I waited until to have a sort of a complete healing
story. I had a swelling on my forehead and down to eye
brows. I did not need any pain killer or sleeping pills.
I used the pills for swelling, it's gone after 4 days.
After 11 days the sutures were removed.
Everything looks normal feel normal reallyealy took good
care of the grafts, started to shed after 8, 9, and
fully shed by the 10th day. I did not notice any hair
loss yet. As others also reported, numbness of the scalp
until today. Attached 3photos, feel free to edit and
select the good pics to post and will share with you
photos every month. It seems my system won't allow me to
attach more than 3 at a time this e-mail will be
followed by other two with 3 photos and 2 photos make
the total of 8.
