Hi. I haven't really written alot on the boards until now-trying to read and learn and not become overwhelmed.
My loss started noticieably 1999 and was diagnosed then with TE and AGA-I have gone up and down with shedding and have used 2% and 5% regularily. I think my loss started as I got a little older (39-40) and my hormones have probably shifted a bit to reveal the AGA. I am now 42 and on Diane-35-coming to the end of my 9th month and my shedding is on the rise from a 6 month of 50 per wash to a gradual progression of todays 200.
I would rather not be on BCP but was tested for Estrogen and was low normal. I also had irregular and too frequent cycles, 18 days. I was hoping the Diane would help but alas am afraid it has not done much and is possibly hurting. I will probably change to Desogen after I acclimate to Spironolactone.
Another thing I have experince regarding Minoxidyl 5% was a strong itching all over my body around month 4 which was unfortunate as I was seeming to improve. I believe it was the Propelyne of 50% in Rogaine and switched to Dr. Lee's Minox without. I have not had the itching but it does not seem to be helping as much either so will be trying the 5% with 30% propelyne.........this is a huge test of patience and faith!
