As I just reread your post, my heart is breaking for you. I'm so sorry to hear you're so depressed over this hair thing. I understand, though, I've never been lower over anything.
Please give yourself a break anyway you can. I can't even imagine the energy it takes to be up for your kids all day. You said it's impossible to be sad and cry when your husband is home. What would he do if you did that? Were you serious about the separation?
Is there anyone you could go to visit where you wouldn't have to be up all the time - for a weekend when your husband could watch the kids? Gee you could even come to Dallas if you wanted. I know we don't know each other very well, but you really need a break.
I know before you've said it's impossible for you to talk to a therapist about your feelings. Could you reconsider? I don't know what would have happened to me if I hadn't found my therapist last July. She has been such a lifesaver. She never judges me and always helps me not to judge myself. Please reconsider.
Did your family really make fun of your hair? That must have really hurt your feelings. You've been in my prayers sweetheart and will continue to be.
Those few weeks when your hair stopped falling out sound like heaven! I so hope it happens to you again soon. And me too.
My ferritin was 33 - a one point decrease from February before I started taking iron. Go figure! But yes, I eat alot of meat already - since about last Christmas. I've gained back the weight I lost from being depressed over my hair - that's good. When I saw Dr. Vliet on Friday, she said what I already knew - that it takes awhile to build up your ferritin stores. So I continue to take the Niferex.
No, I had absolutely NO shedding before the fateful Estratest. I never had thick hair - it was thin but I had lots of it. Now the strands are still thin - but there's alot less of it. I've gotten a little used to feeling my head and not freaking out over knowing it's less than before.
Do you use a conditioner on your hair? Does that help with the tangles? I just use Pantene - combined shampoo and conditioner - I'm lazy.
