My shedding started in October 1999 from hormones given to me by a former gynecologist - the hormone contained methyltestosterone. BAD drug. Don't ever try it. He gave it to me because a blood test showed that my estradiol and testosterone levels were low. Didn't even warn me it could make my hair fall out.
Anyhow I took Aldactone (200 mg) for over a year but it didn't seem to phase my hair one way or the other. Who knows, though, maybe I'll go back on it. I've also been taking Orthocept and Proscar. When I tried lowering the Proscar, my shedding doubled so I upped the dose quickly. It's helped a little but I still shed from 100 - 200 hairs a day. Hair's getting a little thin. Thank goodness I started out with thick hair.
